More Packing!
Sat 25 Jul 2009
23 °C
Today the goal is to have everything packed, and our toothbrushes in our day packs. The bags will all be downstairs ready to go to the airport.
But first Piet, Anita and Shirley got up early to see Jan & Petra off at the local train station, Station de Vink, on their way to Schiphol where they would meet up with Ester then fly to India. They will arrive at midnight then sit on a bus for 5 hours to get to their first destination!! Our flight times are much more reasonable.
The blog was updated, packing all but completed and then we headed for Karen's flat for the first part of a progressive dinner, by cycles! Karen's flat is very cosy and welcoming. It has a fresh decor and a simple theme.
Finger food nibbles
We had nibbles first and then pasta with a choice of sauces for main.

After doing the dishes in Karen's cute kitchen we cycled to Arjen's flat for coffee and dessert. Arjen has installed his kitchen himself and it is the right height for him.
At Arjen's flat
We had apple parcels, ice cream and strawberries and chocolate cake (the last of a giant cake Karen was given!). It was good that we cycled a bit while we were here in Netherlands because we always had lovely food and we needed some exercise!!!!
Yum
The dishes were easy to do - Arjen has a dishwasher! Then it was time to say goodnight, we cycled back to Karen's flat to drop her home. She sat on the back of Anita's bike and pedalled while Anita put her feet up on the frame! We all laughed - it looked so funny! We cycled for the last time back to Voorschoten and the girls had a photo taken with the bike they rode. We will miss the bikes, cycle paths, the feeling of safety and the convenience of cycling here and there. We have all enjoyed the bikes very, very much.
Thank you for the bikes
