Our alarms went off at 06.00, and we were up, dressed, breakfasted and toothbrushes stowed as quickly as possible.
The bags were brought downstairs the night before

Chris and Piet loaded the bags and we headed for the airport just after 07.00. We needed three trollies for the bags! Once we had visited Customs, we checked our bags in and then had coffee with Piet, Anita, Karen, Arjen, Joost, Oom Koos and Tante Toos.
After hugs and a few tears we said good bye and headed for the Passport Control. We walked to gate F4 and Chris was able to change our US$100 note for five US$20s as we passed a bank.
Our flight left at 11.10am and we had a smooth flight to San Francisco.
Farewell to the Netherlands coastline
We have special memories, beautiful photos and treasured experiences which we will remember always of our visit to see our family in the Netherlands.
