After a sleep in, we all cycled to Voorschoten except for Piet who went to work. Every Friday there is a market in the centre, in a quiet tree lined street.

The first stall we came to sold cycle accessories and the girls spent ages choosing a saddle bag each. The bags are cleverly designed to clip on and off a bike carrier with ease and have handles for carrying. This will lighten their school bags the days they have an instrument to take to school.

After lunch, Anita, Emma, Rosemary and Shirley cycled into town to look for sandals. It has been such a hot week, warmer than we expected, and the girls needed cooler footwear.

Piet, Chris and Jennifer went shopping for shorts for Chris but Piet bought some instead!

This week we have had great weather. It has been very warm upstairs and we all sleep with windows open. The sun sets about 10.30 at night, rising again before 5am. We have to remember to send the girls to bed on time even though it is broad daylight.
